Download merged.pdfThis tool merges PDFs only
A Word document (or a document from Google Docs, LibreOffice, Pages or similar) is not a PDF yet. This tool accepts PDFs only: any non-PDF file is skipped with a message. Export your document to PDF first, then merge.
Export to PDF from your word processor
Most word processors can save or export as PDF. These are common routes, and menu names change between versions:
- Microsoft Word: File menu, then Export or Save As PDF.
- Google Docs: File menu, Download, PDF Document.
- LibreOffice: File menu, Export As PDF.
- Pages or Apple apps: File menu, Export To, PDF.
Look in your program's File menu for Export, Save As, or Download. When you see PDF, choose it. Your original document is not changed; you get a new PDF file wherever you save it.
Check the PDF before merging
Open the exported PDF and flip through it. Make sure the text is readable, the layout looks right, and no pages are blank or garbled. If the PDF has an issue, fix it in the Word document, export again, and check once more. The merge copies the pages as they are, so a problem in the exported PDF will still be there after merging.
Then merge them together
- Press Choose files and select the PDF you exported from Word and the other PDF you want to merge.
- Check the order in the list. Use the ↑ and ↓ buttons or drag by the ☰ handle to put them in the right order.
- Press Merge PDFs, then Download merged.pdf.
What this does not do
It does not convert Word files, edit text, change fonts, colours or layout, add page numbers, or compress. The Word document is not changed. It joins PDFs only, so non-PDF files are skipped. If the exported PDF looks different from your document, here is what the merge does and does not carry over.
