A sensible order

Agenda first, so a reader opening the file sees what the meeting covers. Then the previous minutes, then the reports in the order of the agenda, then attachments last. Name the files to match: 00_agenda.pdf, 01_minutes.pdf, 02_treasurer-report.pdf, 03_attachment-a.pdf. Starting at 00 keeps the agenda above everything else in a sorted list.

The steps

  1. Export each part to PDF. This tool only accepts PDFs.
  2. Press Choose files and pick the parts.
  3. Check the list order. Fix it with the arrow buttons or the ☰ handle; see changing the order before merging.
  4. Press Merge PDFs, then press Download merged.pdf.

Check the page count

Add up the originals first. Example: agenda 2 pages, minutes 3, treasurer report 4, attachments 6. That is 2 + 3 + 4 + 6 = 15 pages. Open the result, confirm it says 15, then check that each section starts where it should.

Why one file helps

A single file is one thing to send, one thing to open and one place to scroll, which is easier on a phone than a handful of separate attachments. It also keeps the pack in the order you chose, so nobody has to work out which attachment goes with which item.

What this does not do

It adds no page numbers and no table of contents, and bookmarks are not guaranteed to carry over. Refer to items by agenda item or section name rather than by page number. It cannot reorder pages inside a file. The free limit is 5 files and 20MB in total per merge; for a bigger pack, see merging large PDF files.
