Download merged.pdfWhich browsers we tested
We tested this tool on desktop Chromium (the browser engine behind Chrome and Edge) and emulated phone browsers (WebKit for iPhone, Chromium for Android). Both worked.
We have not tested Firefox or real Safari, but any current browser with JavaScript enabled is expected to work. If you use Firefox, Safari or another browser, it should work, but we cannot promise it because we have not tested it ourselves.
Steps to merge in your browser
- Open this page in your browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari or another that supports JavaScript).
- Press Choose files and select your PDFs (up to 5 files, 20MB in total per merge).
- Check the list. Use the ↑ and ↓ buttons, or drag by the ☰ handle, to put them in order. Press ✕ to remove a file.
- Press Merge PDFs, then Download merged.pdf.
- Wait for the download to finish. There is no upload: the merge happens in your browser tab.
Where the download goes
The merged file lands in your Downloads folder by default, but the exact location depends on your browser's download settings. Look in your browser's download menu or list to find merged.pdf. You can rename it before or after opening it.
If nothing happens
If you press Merge PDFs and nothing occurs, try these:
- Check JavaScript: This tool needs JavaScript. If your browser has JavaScript disabled or an extension blocks it, enable JavaScript and try again.
- Check blockers: A pop-up blocker or download blocker might prevent the merge. Disable them for this page temporarily.
- Very old browser: If your browser is several years old, it may not support the features this tool uses. Try a newer browser or update.
- Clear the browser cache: If the page loaded before but does not work now, try clearing your browser's cache and reload the page.
What this does not do
It does not compress, edit text, add page numbers, or convert non-PDF files. It is expected to work in any current browser with JavaScript, but we have tested only Chromium and emulated phone browsers. On a phone? Merging on iPhone and Android has the phone-specific notes.
