Merge PDF files offline

What works offline

Once this page has finished loading, merging does not need a connection. We tested it in Chromium with the network switched off: choosing files, merging and downloading merged.pdf all worked. Your files are not uploaded either way, online or offline.

How to get ready

  1. While you are still online, open this page and wait until the Choose files button is on screen.
  2. Leave the tab open. Do not close it and do not reload it.
  3. Switch off the network, or move to where there is no signal. The page keeps working, because the merging code is already in your browser.
  4. Press Choose files, put the files in order, press Merge PDFs, then press Download merged.pdf.

What stops working offline

What this does not do

It is not an installed app, so closing the tab ends the offline option until you are online again. We tested Chromium only; other browsers may behave differently, so try yours once before you rely on it. The merge itself is the usual one: whole files in the order you choose, no compression, no editing. Here is how to check for yourself that nothing is uploaded.
