Merge invoices and tax documents into one PDF
Name the files so they sort, merge them in batches if there are more than 5, and check the result before you send it.

Download merged.pdfDecide the grouping first
One file per month, per client or per type of document: ask your accountant how they like to receive things, because this page cannot tell you what to send. It only covers the joining.
Name files so they sort
Put the date first as year-month-day, then the client or sender, then the document, for example 2026-01-15_clientname_invoice-0412.pdf. A plain alphabetical list is then in date order. To group by client instead, put the client name first. Check the order in the list before you merge.
Worked example: 8 invoices
The free limit is 5 files per merge, so 8 files take two merges:
- Merge invoices 1 to 5 and download the result.
- Merge that result with invoices 6, 7 and 8. That is 4 files, which fits.
The final file holds all 8 invoices. Rename each download (for example 2026-Q1-part1.pdf) so you do not mix them up. Everything ends up in the last merge, so the whole set still has to come to 20MB or less in total; batching helps with the file count, not the size.
Check before you send
- The page count equals the originals added together.
- Each invoice is whole: amounts and dates visible, nothing cut off.
- The order matches your naming.
What this does not do
It does not decide what belongs in the pack, check any figures, compress files, or convert photos and other formats to PDF; only PDFs are accepted. Bookmarks and form fields may not carry over. The files are not uploaded to merge them: here is how to verify that. If the total is over the limit, see merging large PDF files.
